We are hiring three full-time research scientists to launch IWRRI into the next phase of serving water research needs in Idaho, the Western U.S and beyond. We invite applications from collaborative and innovative researchers committed to interdisciplinary approaches in water science and management. IWRRI scientists will conduct and coordinate community-identified actionable water research with the opportunity to expand their research agenda by securing extramural competitive grants. Hiring priorities include candidates with expertise in hydrogeology / groundwater modeling, big data analytics, and water quality with interests in co-production of research with a wide range of stakeholders and partners. These positions are housed in IWRRI and are non-tenure track research appointments with no formal teaching responsibilities.    

The Idaho Water Resources Research Institute (IWRRI) is one of the nation’s 54 water research and technology centers. IWRRI conducts and directs research to support the water resource needs of the state of Idaho, the northwest region, and the nation. IWRRI also facilitates and develops innovative education and outreach programs that provide research-generated information to water managers, agency research scientists, and the public at large.  

Timeline: Applications will be reviewed the week of August 11th. Goal of starting by end of September / early October.

Work Location: At least one of the Research Scientist II positions will be based in Idaho Falls, the other positions will be located in Boise.
